Lazerway - Lazer Guided AGV Systems
For
twenty years Excel have earned and developed engineering knowledge
and expertise in designing and supplying automated guided vehicles
(AGVs). In 1998 we were proud to be the first engineering company
to introduce lazer guided vehicle technology into the United Kingdom.
Our commitment to excellence means we have developed the expertise,
and gained the experience, to enable us to design to suit a variety
of applications. We can also supply wire or tape guided systems
should the application or environment require such technology.
Excel Lazerway automated guided vehicles have been used in applications
ranging from body assembly and automated sub-assembly, to the
transport of hazardous products for the pharmaceutical industry
- as well as pallet handling, and the linking of storage to production
facilities. Our advanced vehicle control system is provided by
Excel's partner, Netzler and Dahlgren Company of Sweden - a world
leader in AGV control technology. The ACC70 vehicle controller
provides great possibilities for lazer guided vehicle systems
offering modular solutions for advanced vehicle control and load
handling.
lazer
guided technology overcomes many of the traditional drawbacks
associated with conventional hardwired or tape guided systems.
Lazerway enables free range navigation without the need for physical
floor reference points, in-floor wires or position ID's. A map
of the entire vehicle route is stored in the ACC70, allowing the
vehicle by itself to find a path to any destination in the layout.
The navigation map is easily generated from a CAD drawing with
the Layout and Reflector Definition Programme. Each vehicle is
in constant contact with the off-board control system by either
radio or infra-red communications.
The off-board master control programme is NT7000. This powerful
order manager and traffic controller with advanced diagnostic
and statistic functions runs on Windows NT. This master controller
can be used for stand alone applications as well as interfacing
with a host computer. It can control up to 50 vehicles in one
system as standard. The operator interface programme is CWAY which
also runs under Microsoft Windows. Using a layout diagram and
tables CWAY makes it possible for total operating control over
the AGV system.
A graphically displayed layout can be accessed to view the route
and vehicles during their operation. Diagnostic functions at both
system and vehicle ensure good system overview. The total automated
guided vehicle system is designed to be user friendly. With our
specialist knowledge and experience of designing vehicles to suit
a wide range of applications, Excel Lazerway can provide AGV's
as a real alternative to many other materials handling applications,
having the ability to offer systems built to suit customer requirements
for a wide range of industry sectors. We have the expertise and
commitment to remain at the forefront of development, and we have
the quality of production to be your number one choice.
